昨日才被阿根廷慘電的美夢五隊，八強賽第一場比賽，還是無法擺脫烏雲罩頂的厄運，讓南斯拉夫後來居上大逆轉，在第四節被連趕10分，終場以７８－８１苦吞第二敗。美夢五隊將與前三名無緣，最理想也只能獲得第五名。　　

　　陣中擁有五名NBA現役球員的南斯拉夫，雖然在預賽打得並不如賽前所預期地好，但隨著戰況逐漸地激烈，似乎也激起了南斯拉夫的鬥志，打來越加順手。反觀美夢五隊在被阿根廷以七分擊敗後，似乎還未從昨日挫敗中走出，太在意輸贏的情形下，打得似乎有些綁手綁腳。

　　這場比賽，南斯拉夫射手史扥亞克維奇個人拿下20分，迪瓦克獲得16分，古拉維克則拿下14分，同時他在第四節連砍進三記三分球，使得南斯拉夫以77-73超前，一路領先直到終場。美夢隊在主將犯規累累情況下，全隊僅有A米勒表現較突出，個人獨得19分。(2002/9/6潔絲敏)
