戰績僅次於巴西的德國隊，在歷屆世界盃中曾奪下三次冠軍、三次亞軍，今年第十五度參賽的德國「坦克軍」25日在漢城勝利戰勝南韓紅魔鬼的主場氣勢，陣中明星中場巴拉克(見下圖)以「左右開攻」連續射門射進致勝的一球，終場以1-0撂倒南韓，第七度踢進世界盃冠軍決賽。德國獲勝後將移師日本，靜待巴西對土耳其之戰的贏家，30日在日本橫濱爭奪冠軍。

兩名南韓球迷裝扮成紅魔鬼模樣，期盼國家隊能KO德國隊挺進冠軍戰；可惜事與願違，終場南韓在沒有裁判的鼎力相助下，以0-1與冠軍盃擦身而過。
