英格蘭隊長貝克漢與隊友慶祝比賽的勝利，他在這場比賽成功扮演英格蘭供輸角色，多次製造妙傳給予隊友得分機會。距離冠軍又接近一步的英格蘭，也難怪他會笑得如此燦爛，也不曉得又要迷倒多少少女？

世足賽十六強賽第一場比賽，由歐洲勁旅德國迎戰在預賽險些遭淘汰的巴拉圭，德國隊這場比賽有三名球員因為前幾場比賽收到紅牌，不能上場；仍然展現無比的攻擊火力，7號諾維爾在比賽進行到下半場87分鐘時，獲隊友19號席力德從右翼底線一計妙傳，臨門一腳，為德國隊攻進致勝的一球，最後德國隊就以1-0晉級前八強。
