首次參加亞運的自由車選手林志勳(見左圖)，4日憑著初生之犢的永勇氣，在男子一公里個人計時賽中，飆出破亞運紀錄的1分5秒470佳績，摘下我國首面亞運自由車金牌。
賽前頗被看好的日本選手大森慶，騎出1分5秒864抱銀；男韓選手金致範則以1分7秒864奪下銅牌。
同日，另一個大爆冷門奪牌的項目為男子體操，選手賴國正(見下圖右者)在男子單項-吊環決賽中表現精彩，獲得9.6的高分為中華隊再添一銅。(2002/10/4
